Four distinct but connected red to reddish-black tabular crystals (to 4 cm long and 1.4 cm wide) with vertical striations extending the length of the crystals; crystals embedded in bed of quartz crystals ranging from needle-like forms (to 4 mm long but <1 mm across) to the more typical prismatic shape (to 6 mm long and 1 mm across)
